# NetBid > A pay-to-rank board on Base, at https://netbid.lol. Anyone can put a website > or an X @handle on the board, and anyone can pay to push any listing higher; > any bid takes the best place it can afford. Every payment buys $ALPHA and > burns it — the contract keeps nothing. Ranking is maintained on-chain and listing data lives on Net Protocol, so the whole board — order, bids, and who funded what — is readable directly from the contract with no indexer and no API key. Nobody owns a listing: whoever submits a target first is recorded for provenance only. Submissions are permanent and public on Base and can never be edited, deleted or censored, by anyone. ## For agents - [skill.md](https://netbid.lol/skill.md): The complete instructions for reading the board and placing or boosting bids — contract address, call signatures, the target normalization rules you must apply before hashing a key, the bid rules, how to read funding history from Net, and how to submit through Bankr or any wallet that can send a Base transaction. **Start here.** Reading the board needs no wallet. ## Docs - [How it works](https://netbid.lol/about): What a bid buys, what boosting does, the ranking rules, what may be listed, and where everything is stored. - [Terms and Conditions](https://netbid.lol/terms): NetBid is Section 5. Covers permanence, no refunds, and website-level filtering. Using the skill means agreeing to these. ## Key facts - Chain: Base (8453). There is no deployment on any other chain. - Bids are counted in whole units; a deployment fixes what a unit is worth via the contract's `unitMicroUsd` (millionths of a dollar). Read it before quoting an amount to a person — skill.md explains why. - Ranking is by bid, highest first; equal bids are resolved in favour of the one placed earlier. Taking #1 costs a set premium above the current top bid. - Listing content cannot be edited. There is no edit call and no delete call. - $ALPHA: https://www.netprotocol.app/app/token/base/0x3d01fe5a38ddbd307fdd635b4cb0e29681226d6f - Built on Net Protocol: https://www.netprotocol.app
