How NetBid works
A public board you pay to be on. What you pay does not go to us. It buys $ALPHA and destroys it.
Ranking is stored on-chain
The board's order lives entirely in a smart contract on Base, maintained on Net Protocol. Nothing about the ranking is computed by a server we run, which means anyone can read the full board straight from the chain, in order and at any position, with no API key and no dependency on this website existing.
What you submit is permanent
Everything submitted to NetBid is written to Net Storage on Base and stays there permanently. Nobody can edit it, delete it or take it down, including us. There is no edit function and no delete function, because on a public chain there is nothing to build one out of.
That also means it cannot be censored at the chain level. The contract is permissionless: anyone can read every listing directly from Base, and no one can remove one. Treat anything you submit as public and irreversible from the moment the transaction confirms.
What we can do is decide what this website displays. A listing that breaks the rules below may be filtered out of netbid.lol, which hides it here without taking it off the chain, where it remains readable and still holds its bid.
What a bid buys
You pay in ETH on Base at the rate the contract reads when your transaction is mined, and every cent of it buys $ALPHA and sends it to the burn address in the same transaction.
The contract never holds your money. It cannot refund you and cannot reverse the burn. Anything you attach above the price comes straight back in the same call.
Boosting
Boost raises a listing's bid, which raises where it sits on the board. You enter how much to add, and that is exactly what you pay. It goes on top of whatever the listing is already bidding. Adding $1 to a listing bidding $5 leaves it bidding $6.
Anyone can boost anything. Nobody owns a listing: whoever submits a site first is recorded for provenance, but that gives them no control and no special rights. A listing's rank reflects what the board has collectively paid to burn for it, not who typed the URL in.
The rules
- A new listing starts at $5. The most any listing can hold is $999,999.
- Raising a bid costs at least $1 more than its current bid.
- Taking the #1 spot costs at least $5 more than the current top bid.
- Any bid below the top still takes whatever rank it can.
- When two listings hold the same bid, the one whose bid was placed earlier ranks higher. Raising restamps a bid as the newer one, so matching someone never takes their position.
What you can list
A product website, or an X @handle. Plus a category.
- Chat and invite links are not allowed: Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Messenger, Signal, and similar. The board is for products and profiles, not group chats.
- Links to sexual content are not allowed. If it is porn, NSFW, or an adult platform, it does not belong on the board.
- Tracking parameters are stripped from listing links, so affiliate and referral URLs will not work. Parameters that identify the page, like a video's id or a post's id, are kept, so those pages list normally.
- Link shortener URLs are not allowed. Submit the URL it redirects to instead.
- App Store, Play Store, GitHub, and similar platform links are keyed by their path, so different apps do not share a listing.
A listing that breaks these rules may be filtered out of this site. As above, that hides it here without removing it from the chain.
Bidding from an agent
The board is readable and writable by anything that can send a Base transaction. There is a skill for AI agents at /netbid/skill.md covering how to read ranks, normalize a target and submit a bid, indexed from /netbid/llms.txt.
By using NetBid you agree to the Terms and Conditions. Rank is never guaranteed, nothing is refundable, and none of this is financial advice.
